Terms and Conditions

1. We are a subcontractor, not a prime contractor. All other trades, i.e., Electric, Gas, Plumbing, etc., are not the responsibility of Hood Depot. Hood Depot does not provide drawings for these trades. If the building department requires these trades to be under a prime permit, the end user needs to hire a GC.

2. Cancellation fees: A 10% cancellation fee will be applied to all orders that have been processed. A 20% cancellation fee will be applied to all orders where engineered shop drawings have been completed. Once equipment is built and an order is canceled, invoices up through the fabrication payment will be owed. Equipment, once paid, will be the right of the customer.

3. Per terms on the contract, permits (if applicable) will be paid by Hood Depot and invoiced. This invoice is due within 10 days. If permits are not paid within 10 days, the project will be placed on hold. Any permit fees in excess of $750.00 will need to be paid by the customer ahead of time. Payment methods will be determined on a job-by-job basis based on city allowances.

4. Any fees being charged by the city as a result of Hood Depot's work will be paid by Hood Depot. Any fees being charged by the building department outside of Hood Depot’s control will be paid by the customer. The customer is responsible for reimbursement from any other parties that may have caused these fees.

5. Final inspections - Multiple trades need to be present at the final inspections. If inspections fail or get canceled after we are present on-site, there will be no charge for the first time. Any failed or canceled inspection outside Hood Depot’s control will be charged a trip fee of $725.00.

6. If permits expire due to delays not under the control of Hood Depot, all costs associated with renewing permits will be billed at actual cost, including city fees, expediting fees, and administrative costs.

7. As per notes on the quotation, the first payment is non-refundable. Once drawings are complete, 20% is considered complete. Costs associated beyond that will be calculated, and the balance given as a credit towards future jobs.

8. If invoices are not paid within terms, final payment will be due before the final inspection is called.

9. FPL Rebates - Any FPL rebate shown as a credit on the Quotation/Proposal is based on Hood Depot International Inc. receiving that rebate from FPL. If the rebate is not received or is lower than expected, the difference will be invoiced.

10. Prices on Quotations/Proposals are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated in the contract.

11. Once an order is entered, if fabrication is not requested within 90 days, Hood Depot reserves the right to increase prices based on labor or material cost changes.

12. If the hood installation is substantially complete, but finals do not happen within 3 months, additional fees may apply, including permit fees, reactivation fees, and delay fees.

13. If supports for hoods, ductwork, fans, or other equipment need to penetrate a fire-rated wall, Hood Depot will open the wall as required, but it is the responsibility of others to patch the wall to meet code requirements.
